Audi R8 GT Spyder 2012 – coming soon

The ultimate performance and vision push Audi to develop the open version of their supercar R8. The aggressive design of Spyder is combined with the typical for many sports cars open-cabrio type model. Audi R8 GT Spyder is developed lighter and faster than the normal Audi R8 V10. The carbon used and the light roof are the main reason for this improvements. Moreover the car is equipped with special system- addition to the Quattro all-wheel drive in order to provide better use of the torque. In average the car power will be divided between the front and back wheels at ratio 1:4. The reason for that is the new back wing that provides better aerodynamics and control at the back part in particular.

Furthermore with the specifications of this so special car we shall say that the engine is 5.2 liter V10. 560 horse powers enables to reach the 100km/h in 3,8 seconds and has a top speed of 197 mph. As on the other Audi R8 autos here again the Audi Space Frame is used as well as the aluminum wishbones chassis in order to guarantee great strength of the car as well as very light body. This model is available only with the R tronic submission, no manual one.

Only 1 type of tyre is available – Pirelli 19’. However you may choose from couple wheel rims. And if that’s not enough you may always find a bigger choice in some of the Audi R8 tuner suppliers.

The interior is also as usual for the R8, except the fact that only the most luxuries types are available- the Alcantra and Nappa fine leather ones.

If you like that model and could afford it then you better hurry as Audi announced that in 2012 only 333 such cars will be produced, 90 of them will be for the American market. The main reason for that is to preserve the uniqueness of that car without the need of tuning it. Of course many Tunings are available for the Audi Spyder that could also be implemented on the GT 2012 version.
